Jemima Tarigan is fueled by unwavering tenacity and boundless enthusiasm in her mission to empower positive changes. Her passion lies in the realm of environment and climate change, as she strives to create a greener and more sustainable future for all. With her dedication, she envisions a world where the force of nature thrives in harmony with human progress, and where the impact of climate change is significantly mitigated. 

Since Jemima’s discovery of the wonders of nature, she has embarked on a transformative journey of exploration and personal growth. Along this path, she has embraced new places, cultures, and people, all while confronting challenges and conquering fears. This year, Jemima’s adventurous spirit led her to learn how to play the cello and the guitar. Despite being a novice, she has made remarkable progress, driven by the inspiring quote, “If you never try, you’ll never know”. Through this motto, Jemima has learned to be courageous, stepping outside her comfort zone in pursuit of true joy. While some paths may not have been meant for her, she has discovered immense satisfaction in learning and the exhilaration of gaining valuable experience. 

Jemima has set her sights on competing in the Physics Olympiad, fully aware that the road ahead won’t be easy. However, she thrives on challenging herself and gaining new experiences, which fuels her determination even more. Alongside her academic pursuits, Jemima is now contemplating how she can make a positive impact on her environment and society as a high school student. With the looming climate crisis and escalating environmental challenges, Jemima is deeply committed to protecting Earth’s health and securing a better future for all. She understands that her actions, no matter how small, can contribute to the greater good. Jemima’s journey towards making a meaningful difference began when she took on leadership roles such as President of the Student Council in junior high and Vice President in senior high. Through these experiences, she recognized her potential to effect change for both people and the planet. 

Now, driven by a clear sense of purpose, Jemima is ready to embark on a path of accomplishment. She is determined to shape a sustainable and thriving world, using her skills and passion to make a lasting impact. Despite the challenges that lie ahead, Jemima remains optimistic and ambitious, knowing that her efforts, combined with those of others, can create a brighter future for generations to come. 

Jemima is determined to turn her dreams into reality by pursuing a major in environmental sciences at Stanford University. With this educational foundation, she aspires to join a prestigious research organization and ultimately establish her own sustainable energy company. By doing so, Jemima is dedicated to paving the way toward a more eco-friendly and sustainable future.
