ARTYOM KRIVOSHAPKIN
Future of Technology,
Youth Advocate
Artyom Krivoshapkin is a computer science and math enthusiast with a passion for programming and a love for guitar. He believes that communication is critical to making the world a better place, and his goal is to use his skills to develop the Sakha Republic and make a positive impact in his community.
Once, when he was 10 years old, his dad was attacked by stray dogs, some of which are big and scary. His dad was hospitalized as a result. After this incident, his family raised the issue of street dogs publicly. People were shocked and helped us to sign and send a petition to the government. After a short time, the government established a dog shelter in their district, and there were no more stray dogs on the streets. This lesson taught him that every problem can be solved by the collective willpower of the people, and that it is important to stand up and step up to launch an initiative when required.
Artyom is pursuing a wide ranging of interests in and out of school. For academics, his favorite subjects are mathematics, ICT/informatics and physics. In terms of extracurricular activities, he is committed to fine tuning the art of website development and serving on the student council, where he co-designs and co-hosts activities such as charity fairs, concerts and other community events.
During his free time, he likes to play the acoustic and electric guitar as well as chess. In the future, Artyom aspires to create systems to change the world in the areas of IT, society and education, first starting with a world-class education in computer science at university. Subsequently, he seeks to make IT education in the home region accessible and affordable through establishment of schools and local educational programs.
