Future of Business,
Youth Advocate
Ahan Mehra is an avid football player with passions for business and economics. He believes that creating a business that can help people daily will be critical to making the world a better place. In the long term Ahan hopes to be a top businessperson who can help make the lives of people all over the world better.
“Seeing is believing but sometimes the most real things are the things you can’t see,” ~The Polar Express. This has stuck to Ahan because what he has come to realize is that not everything in the world he sees, hears, touches or reads is the only truth. Ahan had developed a deeper insight and understanding of the world to get to know the true meaning of things. When Ahan stepped beyond the black and white and learned to see things at a deeper level, a whole new world opened up for him.
Ahan is involved in activities both inside and outside of school and aspires to do the best he can in each. His determination to go into the fields of Business and Finance has been very keen and he is eager to learn more about his field of study. Hence, he is an active member of JA Entrepreneurship and the Wharton Investment program, both of which are competitions that give a really deep insight into, not only the field of study, but also the process behind it. To further pursue this field of study, Ahan has studied at Columbia Summer Program on Business, Economics and Finance as well as completed an internship with HSBC to get a valuable real life insight into how it is actually working in the field. Additionally, Ahan is very engaged in helping out his community as he believes that “the good you put out into the world always has a way of coming back to you.” In school he is the Officer of Habitat for Humanity, a member of the Jalan Besar Project and Metta home, all of which help the local community in Singapore for various issues. Finally, outside of school Ahan is an avid football player who is currently on a contract at one of Singapore's top football clubs, Tampines Rovers, as well as pursues art as a longtime hobby. A lot of his Art has been published in exhibitions across Singapore and he hopes to keep doing art.
Looking ahead, Ahan aspires to attend a great university such as Wharton because he wants to be able to make an immense impact in the world, in areas such as climate change, biodiversity and food insecurity. Whether it is through an entrepreneurial idea or research he wants to help others and make their life easier.
